Not to sound cliche, but I've been bad about updating. Especially this week though. I think it's because the subject matter we are covering is so intense. We're talking about the Father Heart of God, and for so many of us, that is such a difficult concept for us to grasp.
So many of us have imperfect views of fathers, mothers, husbands...well, basically, the concept of relationship, that we wonder why God wants to pursue us. Even have a relationship with us. We've done what we feel is the unforgivable, and we cringe, just waiting from the destroying blow from a cold God who wants to smite us.
Then you read this from Matthew: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing." God wants to gather us to Himself, but we are not willing. I want to be a willing chicken, one who runs for the refuge of my heavenly Father, one who hears the very heartbeat of God.
