Wow. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am always amazed when the sermon at church mirrors exactly what I am dealing with in my life. Yesterday I was lamenting about my double standard relating to the homeless; this morning, I got my answer.
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
Sounds like two direct commands to me.
